Grandola Ed Uniti is a municipality in the Province of Como in the Italian region of Lombardy and consists of six districts, which are Cardano, Codogna, Gonte, Grona, Naggio and Velzo.
Grandola is in an area of outstanding lakeside scenery, with the magnificent mountains forming the perfect backdrop. Quaint harbours, pebbly beaches and woodland walks all add to the character of this lovely village.
The area has a fine 18 hole golf course and is also widely known for typical 'crotti', which are cellars carved from the mountain caves that have been transformed into rural restaurants serving traditional local dishes.
There are several places of interest in the area including the 'Villa Bagatti-Valsecchi', which is in the pretty village of Cardano. It dates back from 17th-18th century, the wonderful gardens of which are open to the public.
Also in Cardano is the Church of St. Caterina, dating from 18th century. The parish church of SS. Siro and Margherita dates back from the 17th century and is in the village of Codogna. The 18th century 'Villa Camozzi'
is in Codogna and is a magnificent building within its own park. The ground floor is now a venue for conferences, theatre and other cultural activities. In the village of Naggio, is the 15th century Church of S. Antonio Abate which features include a rare and valuable fresco.
